The Consequences of Love

by Paolo Sorrentino

Synopsis

Every man has a secret he can’t confess. ButTitta Di Girolamo has more than one. It is obvious. Otherwise why would a fifty year-old, from the south, be living in an anonymous hotel room in an anonymous town in the Italian part of Switzerland for eight years? Eight years spent not working. Apparently. Years of silence and cigarettes, years spent hanging-out between the lobby and the hotel bar, wearing elegant clothes without allowing any past-times. An atrocious routine, in the eternal waiting that something extraordinary will happen. But what could ever happen?. Titta observes, he examines the life that passes before him and no sentiment, no emotion is given away. Apparently. Without anybody. Alone. A lost man. Lost for years secretly contemplating something. But what? And why? What are Titta Di Girolamo’s secrets?
