Synopsis

Cheyenne is a fifty-year-old Jewish rock star – goth music, red lipstick, white makeup – who has quit the scene. He lives a very cushy life in Dublin, plagued by boredom which he tends to see as slight depression. He leads the life of a man who has retired early. The death of his father, with whom he had not been on speaking terms for some time, takes him back to New York. Here he reads some diaries, which enable him to bring into focus the last thirty years of his father’s life. Years spent obsessively searching for a Nazi criminal who had taken refuge in the United States. With implacable slowness and no talent for investigating, Cheyenne decides, quite illogically, to continue his father’s research and to set off across the United States to track down a ninety-year-old German who has probably already died of old age.
